Sharjah: Sharjah Media City (Shams) has announced the Shams eSports Championship, set to take place at the Shams Business Centre from 22-23 November 2024. The two-day event aims to boost the eSports scene in Sharjah and the UAE.
According to Emirates News Agency, the competition will feature FIFA 25 on Friday, Tekken 8, and Super Smash Bros. on Saturday, with a total prize pool of AED 100,000. Prizes will be distributed across the top 8 players in each game, with additional prizes available through a prize wheel worth AED 5,000.
Alia Ali Al Suwaidi, Director of Content and Innovation at Shams, highlighted the championship as part of the emirate’s broader effort to establish Sharjah as a key hub for the gaming and e-sports industry while supporting the development of new talent.
