Sharjah: H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has emphasized the importance of the participation of all residents in the upcoming “Sharjah Census 2025” project. This initiative is set to commence on October 15 and will run until December 31, aiming to collect vital population data to inform decisions that address the needs and desires of Sharjah’s residents.
According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan urged all residents of the emirate to proactively register their data. He assured that all collected information will remain confidential and highlighted that participation in the census serves as a direct line of communication between the residents and the Ruler of Sharjah. He cautioned that those who delay or choose not to submit their data may forfeit their rights.
During his appearance on the “Direct Line” programme on Sharjah Radio and Television, the Ruler of Sharjah underscored the significance of the Sharjah Census project. He addressed the misconception that the census might not be relevant to some residents, affirming its crucial role in understanding the living conditions of all residents in Sharjah.
H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan instructed census employees to gather detailed information about specific areas, including resident names, housing types, quality of life, and income levels. He stressed that accurate information is essential for making effective decisions to enhance the lives of Sharjah’s residents. Feedback from the census will be used to meet the community’s needs and wishes, reinforcing the project’s importance for everyone residing in Sharjah.
The Ruler of Sharjah emphasized that the census data will not be published and will remain entirely confidential. He explained that the information would only be reviewed under specific instructions from him, primarily to aid in carrying out essential tasks by the Social Services Department.
H.H. Sheikh Dr Sultan reassured residents that their participation in the census serves as a direct communication channel with him, enabling him to understand their circumstances and provide meaningful assistance. He highlighted previous census data’s role in raising the minimum living standard for families, expanding residential areas, and creating new employment opportunities.
The Ruler of Sharjah called for cooperation with census employees, urging residents to respond promptly to questions and provide necessary information. He warned that delays or refusal to participate might result in missed opportunities for benefits derived from the collected data.
