SHARJAH:H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the University of Al Dhaid, presided over, Monday, the second meeting of the university’s Board of Trustees.
At the onset of the meeting, H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah extended a warm welcome to the Board members, congratulating them on the official inauguration of the University of Al Dhaid and the ongoing efforts to advance the institution.
In his address, Sheikh Sultan wished success and prosperity to the Board members and the entire university community-including professors, administrators, and students-as they work together to realise the university’s vision and mission in education, learning, training, and scientific research.
He emphasised that the University of Al Dhaid represents a significant addition to the higher education landscape in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Board approved the university’s budget for the 2024-2025 academic year, as well as the university’s regulations and organ
isational structure.
The Board reviewed a report by Dr. Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shalabi, the University President, which detailed the achievements made during the founding phase.
The report outlined the University’s strategy and vision for academic and scientific excellence, aimed at preparing a skilled generation of specialists. It also covered efforts to engage with the community and the strategic planning for the infrastructure of the colleges and various university facilities.
The Board also examined reports from the Finance, Academic, Internal Audit and Compliance Committees, as well as the Financial Resources Development Committee.
The meeting saw the presence of the Board of Trustees of the University of Al Dhaid, including Dr. Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL); Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, the Chairperson of the Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA); Ali Saeed bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Department of
Public Works; Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Academy; Dr. Mohammed Abdullah bin Howaiden, Chairman of the Al Dhaid Municipal Council; Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi, Chiarman of the Al Mudam Municipal Council; Dr. Aisha Ahmed Mohammed Abu Shalibi, Chancellor of the Al Dhaid University; Dr Peter McCaffery, Director of the Royal Agricultural College in Britain; Dr. Warwick Bayly, Professor of Equine Medicine, Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Washington State University; Dr Salem Zayed Al Tunaiji, Head of the Emirati Studies Department at the Higher College of Technology; Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, former Chairman of the Sharjah Education Council; Dr Khalifa Musabah bin Yolk Al Ketbi, Director of the Engineering Department at Al Mudam Municipality; Dr. Saeed Hareb Dhahi Al Mansouri, Head of the Human Resources Planning Department at the Sharjah Police General Command; Dr Ahmed Saeed Al Khasouni Al Ketbi, officer in the Security Media Department at the Ministry
of Interior; and Dr Musabah Saeed Al Ketbi, member of the Board of Trustees of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work.
