Sharjah Sees 45% Growth in FDI Projects Reflecting UAE’s Economic Competitiveness

Sharjah:Sharjah has experienced a 45% increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) projects by 2025, highlighting the competitiveness of the UAE economy, according to Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah).

According to Emirates News Agency, Al Musharrkh shared these insights during an interview focused on global economic shifts and Sharjah's economic preparedness. The emirate is gearing up to host the ninth Sharjah Investment Forum on October 14th and 15th at Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment.

The forum, themed 'Building Adaptive Economies', will feature over 80 speakers, including international ministers, investors, and experts, to discuss changes in the business and investment landscape and strategies for fostering adaptable and sustainable economic growth.

Al Musharrkh pointed out that global changes have made investors more selective, with capital becoming concentrated in fewer countries and sectors. He emphasized that the UAE's stability, clear economic outlook, and flexible legislative frameworks make it a prime investment destination.

He outlined four pillars contributing to the UAE's economic appeal. The first is economic diversification with non-oil activities making up 79.4% of the economy in early 2026, supported by sectors like financial services and healthcare. The second is a responsive legislative ecosystem, with the UAE ranking high in government adaptability and legal frameworks.

The third pillar is talent, with the UAE fostering a knowledge economy, ranking first globally in employment and international experience. The early adoption of AI and technology further supports the country's entrepreneurial landscape. Finally, early investment in emerging sectors like manufacturing and telecommunications positions the UAE advantageously for future investments.

In this model, Sharjah is highlighted as an economy with a distinct identity focused on production and knowledge, under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, ensuring a stable and priority-driven environment for investors.
