Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Meets Foreign Ministers at UN Assembly

New York:H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held separate meetings with several foreign ministers during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah engaged in discussions with George Gerapetritis, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic; Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Singapore; Sean Sobers, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago; and Vijitha Herath, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

The meetings focused on enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in various sectors including economy, trade, investment, culture, tourism, energy, and artificial intelligence, aimed at mutual interests and promoting development and prosperity.

Additionally, the discussions covered recent regional and international developments and issues on the United Nations General Assembly agenda. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE's commitment to multilateral action and international partnerships to drive development and achieve stability and sustainable economic prosperity.

The conversations also included preparations for the 2026 United Nations Water Conference, co-hosted by the UAE and the Republic of Senegal from December 8th to 10th, and international efforts to leverage innovation and advanced technologies to tackle water challenges, promote water security, and advance sustainable development.

Senior officials including Lana Nusseibeh, Minister of State; Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State; Ambassador Mohamed Abushahab, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations; and Omar Shehadeh, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States, attended the meetings.
