According to Wam, this recognition highlights SSMC's increasing prominence in specialised oncology care both regionally and globally, and its dedication to providing care that meets the highest international standards. The inclusion of SSMC in these rankings reflects its strength in delivering complex and personalised cancer care through an integrated model, recognized internationally by Newsweek and Statista.

The achievement is attributed to the collaborative efforts of SSMC's medical, nursing, technical, and administrative teams, who work together to provide comprehensive cancer care. SSMC recently received Magnet Recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center, acknowledging nursing excellence and enhancing patient confidence in the care provided.

SSMC's oncology services integrate expertise across medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, haematology, and advanced imaging, among others. The hospital's capabilities include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, advanced radiation therapy, and minimally invasive interventional oncology procedures. This coordinated approach allows specialists to tailor diagnosis and treatment to individual patient needs, including those with rare cancers.

Dr. Marwan Al Kaabi, CEO of SSMC, emphasized the significance of the ranking as a testament to the expertise and innovative cancer care model at SSMC. He noted that as cancer treatments become more complex and personalized, SSMC offers patients multidisciplinary expertise, precision medicine, and advanced technology closer to home, enhancing access to care for patients in the UAE and beyond.

SSMC's model is bolstered by its academic and research infrastructure, combining clinical practice with education and research. The hospital is Joint Commission International-accredited and the first in the UAE to achieve JCI Academic Medical Centre status. SSMC's Clinical Trials Unit conducts research in oncology and haematology, providing eligible patients with opportunities to participate in studies on emerging treatments.

The recognition underscores SSMC's commitment to enhancing access to advanced oncology care in Abu Dhabi and solidifies its role in positioning the emirate as a hub for specialized healthcare.
