Spain Floods Result in Four Fatalities and Emergency Response

Accra:At least four individuals lost their lives due to severe flooding caused by heavy rainfall in Spain's Mediterranean region. The deluge affected several areas, including the regions of Valencia and Alicante, as well as the Balearic Islands of Mallorca and Ibiza.

According to Emirates News Agency, Spanish national radio and television broadcaster RTVE reported that rescue teams successfully saved dozens of people who became stranded. Many were rescued from rooftops, flooded buildings, and vehicles.

The flooding led to numerous roads, homes, and campsites being submerged under water. In response to the crisis, the regional government declared the second-highest level of emergency, resulting in the suspension of classes in more than 40 municipalities across the affected areas.
