Speaker of Saudi Shura Council Holds Joint Discussions with Speaker of Bahraini Council of Representatives

Riyadh, Speaker of the Bahraini Council of Representatives Fawzia bint Abdulla Zainal referred to the historical ties binding the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, boosted by the fraternal relations and existing strategic ties based on the joint fate shared by the two sides, commending the distinguished constant growth the relations are witnessing under the generous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The remarks were made during a joint discussion session Zainal held with the Speaker of the Shura Council Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh and the accompanying delegation at the headquarters of the council of representatives as part of the official visit Al Al-Sheikh is paying to Bahrain upon an invitation from Zainal.

During the meeting, Zainal said: “The two brotherly countries are considered a model for unity and cohesion in facing various circumstances and challenges”, praising the achievements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, citing the continuous development and progress in all fields, which contributed to realizing more security, welfare and stability for the Saudi people. She also stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a safety valve for the regional stability, a hub for the strategic depth and an international weight that keeps increasing day after day due to its important role in defending humanitarian issues. She also expressed pride in the pivotal role the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plays in supporting the interests of the Arab and Islamic nations and its efforts in defending just causes and continuous defense for the unity of the Arab and Islamic nations, referring to the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian and civil initiatives for the regional and international good.

The Bahraini speaker also noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always the biggest commercial partner to Bahrain, thanks to the distinguished economic cooperation and huge commercial trade volume, especially in light of the efforts the Saudi-Bahraini Coordination Council is exerting under the presidency of Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister of Bahrain, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in developing cooperation aspects, in a way that realizes development for the two countries and peoples.

For his part, Sheikh Dr. Al-Sheikh expressed, during the meeting, his gratitude and appreciation of Zainal for her generous invitation, referring to the deep-rooted historical ties between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain under the support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the constant follow up and concern of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense and Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain.

He also said that these relations are based on fraternal bonds established by the fathers and grandfathers and instilled by successive generations till the present, forming special and distinguished relations based on solid foundations, noting that these ties reflected on the close cooperation level between the two countries in all fields, mainly at the parliamentary level between the Shura Council and the Bahraini Council of Representatives. He also praised the comprehensive development of Bahrain at all levels, pointing out that this visit and talks form an opportunity to enhance courses for the joint parliamentary action and coordinating positions and visions towards parliamentary issues witnessed at various regional and international events.

The meeting reviewed several issues of mutual interest, discussed means to support bilateral ties in various fields, widened parliamentary cooperation and exchanging expertise, developed joint action mechanisms, increased the level of coordination and unified efforts and stances.

Several officials from both countries attended the meeting.
