Sport competitions and traditional shows within the Syrian students’ camp in Belarus

Minsk, Folklore activities and sports competitions among student teams from Belarus, Syria, Uzbekistan and Russia were held on Thursday within the “Zobronk” camp, which is hosted by Belarus at the invitation of Belarusian Ministry of Education and in cooperation and coordination between the Syrian Embassy in Minsk and the camp administration.

The events included competitions in traditional singing, folk dance and sports between the teams, during which the Syrian students achieved a distinguished presence that won the admiration of the audience.

In a speech during the events, Syrian Ambassador in Minsk, Muhammad al-Omrani, said Syria thanks and appreciates Belarus for its humanitarian initiative to host Syrian children who suffered from the terrorist war and the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria.

He affirmed readiness of the Syrian side to provide all forms of assistance and cooperation in this regard in light of the positive impacts of these initiatives in enhancing historical friendship relations between Syria and Belarus.

The camp that hosts 73 skilled students of basic education in the schools of the Syrian Arab Republic, and students skilled at exams for the certificate of basic education from the sons and daughters of martyrs, will last until the end of August.
