Abu dhabi: Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, emphasized that advancing government operations and investing in human capital are key components of the UAE's strategic direction under the 'We the UAE 2031' vision. This initiative aims to establish a more efficient, agile, and future-ready government.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Mazrouei's remarks were made at the ceremony honoring the winners of the second edition of the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Award for Institutional Excellence. Organized by the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the event celebrated significant contributions to government performance and institutional development, underlining the Ministry's dedication to fostering a culture of excellence and recognizing achievements.
Al Mazrouei highlighted that the award's criteria are congruent with the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award, promoting innovation and institutional excellence. The award is intended to enhance performance and administrative practices through standards of institutional and functional excellence, continuous development, and improved operational efficiency.
He stated that empowering national talent, fostering innovation, and motivating outstanding performance are essential to preparing government entities for sustainable developmental impact. Al Mazrouei stressed that institutional excellence is a strategic long-term commitment that reflects the vision of a future built on efficiency and creativity.
He further elaborated that the Ministry operates under a strategic vision focused on policy and procedural development, improving human capital efficiency, and embracing innovative solutions. These initiatives aim to enhance government service quality and strengthen the UAE's competitiveness in the energy, infrastructure, and transport sectors.
Al Mazrouei also noted the Ministry's integrated approach to government work system development, emphasizing institutional efficiency, work environment improvement, procedural simplification, and workforce readiness enhancement. This approach ensures strategic alignment and effective execution while increasing responsiveness to changes and future opportunities.
Dr. Ibrahim Salman, Head of Government Performance and Excellence in the UAE Government and General Coordinator of the Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Programme, emphasized that excellence is an ingrained aspect of the UAE government. He noted that the evolving excellence framework requires adaptable tools aligned with leadership ambitions, focusing on tangible results and real impact.
Dr. Salman affirmed that the next phase will prioritize integration and partnership among government entities, quality of life enhancement, and proactive government performance based on impact measurement, thereby solidifying the UAE's leadership position.
