Syria, Pakistan to enhance tourism and investment cooperation

Damascus, Syria and Pakistan signed on Thursday a memo of understanding to enhance cooperation in the field of tourism, hospitality and investment in the tourism sector.

 

The memo, which was signed by Syrian Minister of Tourism Mohammad Rami Martini, and Ambassador of the Republic of Pakistan in Damascus, Saeed Muhammad Khan, aims to develop and boost means of cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and hospitality development.

 

It includes cooperation in various fields, exchanging tourists, developing tourism between the two countries, investment, promotion and marketing, exchanging experiences in the field of training and facilitating the promotion of tourism investment opportunities.

 

Martini said a press statement that Syria is set to open prospects for cooperation with friendly countries in the tourism field, which has been affected as a result of the Corona epidemic, stressing that cooperation will not be limited to visits and airlines, it but would be enhanced in aspects of tourism investment and the exchange of tourist groups from the two countries.

 

In turn, the Pakistani Ambassador stressed the importance of the agreement to promote and market tourism and investment between the two countries, adding that tourist trips between the two sides began in 2021 and are continuing, hoping tourism investment between the two countries would be activated.
