Cairo, Syria participated in the 31st edition of the Arab Music Festival and Conference , currently being held in Cairo.
The Conference addressed the emergence of Arabic lyrical theater and the rich experiences of Arab countries from the theater of Abu Khalil al-Qabani and lyrical theater in the Levant and in Egypt.
In her research titled “Lyrical theater in the Levant and Egypt… Al-Qabbani and al-Rahbanah”, the administrative head at the Salhi al-Wadi Institute for Music, Abeer al-Jabi, reviewed the historical background that established the emergence of the lyrical theater in Syria.
Al-Jabi said that she had mentioned in her research the theater of Abu Khalil al-Qabani (1933-1903) in the Levant and in Egypt, which is considered the pioneer of Arabic lyrical theatre.
