Syrian-Cuban talks to enhance bilateral parliamentary relations

Damascus, Syrian- Cuban Friendship Committee at the People’s Assembly on Tuesday discussed with Cuba’s Ambassador in Damascus, Miguel Porto Parga, means of developing the parliamentary relations between the two counties.

Head and members of the committee described as “deeply-rooted” the relations between Syria and Cuba, referring to the necessity of boosting them in all domains through intensifying the exchanged visits and scientific scholarships.

They hailed Cuba’s principled stances in support of Syria and the resilience of its people in the face of the economic blockade imposed by the US on the two states, adding that Cuba sent 240 thousand dozes of Covid-19 vaccination to the Syrian people.

In turn, Ambassador Parga said it is very important to maintain continuous meetings between the two states in a way that serves the joint interests.

The Ambassador condemned the US blatant intervention in the affairs of other states with the aim of looting their resources, as well as providing weapons and financial support to terrorists as it did in Syria, Iraq and Libya.
