Syrian-Russian talks on best measures to confront western sanctions

Moscow, Syrian-Russian joint governmental committee discussed on Tuesday means of enhancing bilateral cooperation and the best ways to face the western unjust economic sanctions imposed on peoples of the two countries.

Head of the Committee on the Syrian side, Minister of Presidential Affirms, Mansour Azzam and Head of the Russian side, Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, affirmed at an official session of talks the need to find the best means to confront the western measures through adopting economic procedures that enable Syrian economy to ease the difficulty of the current stage.

The talks also dealt with an overall evaluation for the most important outcomes reached within the context of the work of the joint committee, particularly in terms of preparations taken by the Planning and International Cooperation Authority in Syria and the Ministry of Economic Development in the Russian Federation to hold the 13th session in Damascus soon.

Heads of the joint Committee showed keenness on providing full support for the national companies operating in both countries in addition to boosting the work of the private sector through the Syrian-Russian Joint Business Council.
