Tahnoon bin Zayed Chairs MGX’s First Board Meeting of 2026

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the MGX Board of Directors, has chaired MGX's first Board meeting of 2026.

According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting highlighted the company's focus on AI innovation and the impact of AI-exposed industries on revenue growth and productivity.

The board reviewed MGX's 2025 business performance, including financial results and annual statements. MGX's strong fundraising momentum was acknowledged, with new commitments from top-tier international investors.

Discussion points included MGX's recent investment in Anthropic's US$30 billion Series G round, reflecting the company's confidence in Anthropic's growth. The board also examined MGX's participation in xAI's US$20 billion Series E round and its merger with SpaceX, enhancing technology and infrastructure capabilities.

Further, MGX's involvement in Databricks' Series K round and OpenAI's employee secondary investment was discussed, underlining MGX's belief in OpenAI's future as an AI leader. The board also reviewed MGX's establishment of TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC, focusing on data protection and content moderation for TikTok's US community.

The transactions underscore MGX's strategy to invest in AI technologies with global potential. The board also evaluated the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP), with MGX and partners leading initiatives to build next-generation AI infrastructure.

The organisational review included assessing MaGiX, MGX's platform for developing AI applications to enhance investment outcomes. Ahmed Yahia Al Idrissi, CEO and Managing Director of MGX, emphasized the company's strategic investment in global AI leaders to drive economic growth.

The board meeting was attended by Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Jassem Mohamed Bu Ataba Al Zaabi, Peng Xiao, Martin Edelman, and Ahmed Yahia Al Idrissi.
