The Chadian authorities announced the return of (157) Chadians after their deportation yesterday, Tuesday, from shelter centers in Libya via a special flight – in coordination with the Libyan authorities, the International Organization for Migration and the Chadian Embassy in Tripoli, to issue their travel documents and facilitate their return to their country.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Integration and Chadians Abroad attributed the deportation process, which it described as an important step to ensure the safety and well-being of Chadians, to close cooperation between the Libyan authorities, Chad and the International Organization for Migration.
The Ministry said in a statement that flights to return the remaining Chadians will continue in the coming weeks in order to release all Chadian citizens who are still detained in Libya and return them to their homeland.
The Ministry explained this return after the visit of the Chadian President to Tripoli, which allowed the signing of bilateral agr
eements on the fate of Chadians living in this brotherly country.
