A government source confirmed the closure of the file of the displaced in al-Muqdadiya sector, northeast of Baquba, the center of Diyala Governorate.
The source told the correspondent of the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA /: “The file of the displaced from the villages of northern al-Muqdadiya was closed after the return of all the displaced families to their homes and the completion of the service and security components in full.”
He added: “The displaced families, who are included and wish to return, have returned to their areas in Diyala, with the exception of those who lived in scattered villages in Al-Saadiya and Al-Nada Basin. They did not want to return for service and security reasons,” noting: “More than 300 families in Diyala will not be able to return to their homes because of clan conflicts, especially in the eastern and southern regions of Baquba.
