The Public Prosecution calls for establishing a legislative framework to prevent human trafficking.

Tripoli: The Public Prosecution organized a forum on Tuesday on the protection of human rights and combating cross-border crime, with the participation of the Attorney General "Al-Siddiq Al-Sour" and a number of experts and specialists in the field of human rights. The Attorney General's Office said in a statement that holding the forum on the occasion of the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, which falls on July 30 of each year, allows for the widest possible participation in combating this crime by starting to formulate the establishment of a legislative, regulatory and institutional framework that has more effective tools to prevent human trafficking, ensure the prosecution of perpetrators, and protect the rights of victims. The statement stressed the need to pay attention to trends and challenges, especially the new and emerging technologies used by traffickers to recruit, transport, shelter and exploit victims. The statement of the Attorney General's Office added: The Public Prosecution is keen on the need to pay attention to human trafficking crimes by coordinating the efforts of the relevant authorities and various stakeholders.
