Tripoli: The Libyan State Funds Recovery and Assets Management Office ‘LARMO’ and the Libyan Counter-Terrorism Center signed a memorandum of understanding today, Sunday in Tripoli, to enhance cooperation in combating terrorism and money laundering.

The agreement was signed by the Director General of the Office for the Recovery of Libyan State Funds and Management of Recovered Assets, Muhammad Al-Mansali, and the Libyan Counter-Terrorism Center, headed by Major General Muhammad Bashir.

According to the Money Recovery Office, the agreement aims to enhance joint cooperation in combating terrorism and money laundering and recovering money obtained illegally.

Al-Mansali stressed the importance of the partnership with the Libyan Counter-Terrorism Center in achieving security and economic goals, pointing out that this agreement represents a decisive step towards unifying efforts and enhancing joint capabilities in confronting security and financial challenges.

For his part, Major General Muhammad Bashir stressed
the vital role of this cooperation in strengthening Libyan national security. ‘We are committed to working closely with the Assets Recovery Office to achieve our common goals in combating terrorism and money laundering,’ he said.

Tripoli: The Chairman of the Council of the High National Elections Commission, ‘Imad Al-Sayeh,’ met today, Sunday, with the Director of the Office of the United States Agency for Development (USAID) in Libya, ‘John Cardenas,’ and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the two members of the Council.

The Commission’s media office stated that the meeting comes within the framework of the international community’s support for the democratic process in Libya, and to determine the level of the Commission’s readiness to implement the elections of municipal councils, and to inquire about the type of support that USAID can provide in the field of managing and implementing elections to enhance the level of the Commission’s readiness to implement the upcoming elections. .

The President and members of the Commission’s Council accompanied John Cardenas on an inspection tour inside the Commission’s headquarters, during which they were briefed on the equipment and facilities of the media center, counting and st
atistics, and communication and assistance.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the guests praised the efforts made by the Commission and those in charge of it to provide ideal conditions for holding the upcoming elections, stressing that international support for these efforts continues to achieve the completion of the elections in accordance with the highest international standards.
