Third Summer Programme Begins at Holy Quran Academy with Focus on Quranic Culture

Sharjah: The Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah has launched its third summer programme, running until 31st July, with the theme ‘Towards an Authentic Quranic Culture’. This initiative is designed to provide an engaging educational experience centered around the teachings of the Quran.

According to Emirates News Agency, this year’s programme offers a variety of courses, including Quranic calligraphy and decoration, in collaboration with the Sharjah Department of Culture. The academy’s offerings are divided into four main areas of focus: Quranic calligraphy and decoration, the basics of Tajweed (rules for reciting the Quran), a course titled “My Experience with the Quran,” and a special track called “Future Guide” for young people aged 9 to 17.

The academy’s objective is to promote Quranic teachings while reinforcing cultural values and a sense of identity rooted in Arab and Islamic traditions. Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary-General of the Holy Quran Academy, stated that this year’s programme builds upon their mission to share and preserve Quranic heritage and enrich community culture.

Al Hosani noted the success of the summer programme, which began in 2023 with the ‘Future Mentor’ initiative. In 2024, the academy introduced new courses and experienced increased participation, with a total of 3,382 attendees, both in person and online. This included over 1,082 individuals attending in person and more than 2,300 participating remotely.

He further emphasized the academy’s commitment to being a leading global institution for Quranic studies, focusing on a comprehensive approach to serving the community while preserving essential knowledge and teachings related to the Quran.
