To participate in a conference on Iraq.. Iranian Foreign Minister for the first time in Jordan

Baghdad, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir Abdullahian will head tomorrow, Monday, to the Jordanian capital, Amman, on his first official visit since assuming his position in August 2021.

According to IRNA, the minister will participate in the second Baghdad conference in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

It stated: After the meeting was held in Baghdad during August last year, Oman will host a regional meeting on Iraq, which will begin its work on Tuesday. Turkey and a number of Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, are supposed to participate in this meeting.

The Iranian ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, had suggested that a bilateral meeting would be held between representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia during a regional summit in Amman.

On Saturday, the official Iranian agency, IRNA, quoted Amani, during his meeting with a group of Lebanese journalists at the Iranian embassy in Beirut, as saying that “a regional summit on Iraq will be held in Amman on December 20, and may witness a bilateral meeting between representatives of Iran and Saudi Arabia, and it will be a starting point for the return of bilateral talks.
