Tourism training program received 8,894 applications-Ministry

A total of 8,894 people applied during the registration period to participate in the 2024 training program for workers in the tourism sector, travel agents, local service providers and job seekers, who wish to engage in the industry's activities. The interview period for participation in this program, launched by the Ministry of Tourism, in cooperation with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), will begin next Sunday for a 10-day period, covering all the Kingdom's governorates. In a joint statement, the ministry and the corporation said the program aims to provide participants from the tourism sector and local communities with the basic skills necessary and raise the worker capabilities in restaurants, hotels, owners of popular and traditional handicrafts, travel agents and tour guides. The statement said 1,100 male and female trainees will be selected and trained, adding that 200 workers in the tourism sector, 400 tourism service providers from local communities, and 500 job seekers will benefit from the program activities. The program, which will be implemented after completing the interview and selection processes for eligible participants, has two levels; the first is designed to focus on skill axis and consists of 300 training hours.
