The Minister of the Interior of the Government of National Unity, Imad Trabelsi, discussed today, Thursday, with the American envoy, Richard Norland, and the Chargé d’Affairs of the American Embassy in Libya, Jeremy Brent, the ministry’s preparations to secure the elections.
The US Embassy stated in a statement via its account on the ‘X’ platform that the meeting comes within the framework of supporting the efforts of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Abdullah Batili, to bring together institutional parties to resolve political issues and lead Libya towards elections and towards a unified national government.
The embassy added that the meeting stressed the importance of maintaining peace and stability throughout the country, including the border areas, and also emphasized support for civil organizations working in Libya.
