Frankfurt:TRENDS Research and Advisory, in collaboration with the German modern consulting group MOSECON, has initiated a research project in Frankfurt titled "Artificial Intelligence, Political Violence, Sabotage and Hybrid Warfare Recruitment, Attack Planning and Organisational Resilience." The project is launched through TRENDS' virtual office in Germany and aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies on political violence, sabotage, and hybrid warfare. It seeks to understand how these technologies can be used for recruitment and attack planning, while also enhancing the ability of governments and organizations to tackle complex, technology-driven security threats.
According to Emirates News Agency, the project reflects a commitment to strengthening cooperation between research institutions and experts, aiming to produce studies that address emerging security challenges and support policy development through knowledge and analysis. Following the launch, a discussion session was hosted by TRENDS, led by Dr. Mohamed Abougazala, featuring Jan San-Pierre, CEO and Counter-Terrorism Advisor at MOSECON, and Björn Haulitschka, Business Development Director at Securitas Germany.
Jan San-Pierre discussed the objectives and research themes of the joint project, emphasizing the practical challenges posed by AI-enabled threats. Björn Haulitschka highlighted the significance of the cooperation in bridging scientific research with practical security expertise, especially as the relationship between AI and security threats evolves rapidly.
Additionally, TRENDS participated in the Frankfurt International Book Fair 2026, marking its sixth consecutive year at the event. Rawda Al Marzouqi, Head of the Distribution and Exhibitions Sector at TRENDS Group, noted the organization's commitment to promoting knowledge and research. TRENDS' presence at the fair was well-received, with significant interest in its publications and research output from a diverse group of intellectuals and experts.
