TSSD Agency confirms the provision of oncology medications inside Libya from next April.


Tripoli: Head of the Treatment Services Support and Development, (TSSD) Agency in Libya, Dr. Ahmed Mlitan, said that oncology treatment drugs in Libya will be available during next April.

In statements published by the agency on its Facebook account, Mlitan confirmed that the National Unity Government’s implementation of the public tender for several pharmaceutical companies, will contribute to providing those treatments that the patient was suffering from a lack of within the country, noting that the oncology patient needs the dose, and the price in the market is very high compared to the citizen’s income.

Mlitan explained that radiation therapy is now being localized through the opening of a specialized center at Tripoli Central Hospital concerned with this matter last December.

He added that the center conducts 120 radiotherapy sessions per day, under the supervision of the National Cancer Control Authority, and in cooperation with the Treatment Services Support and Development Agency.
