Tunisia exits AFCON, Mali and South Africa through to Round of 16

ABIDJAN: The Mali and South Africa national football teams have qualified to the Round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), being held in Côte d’Ivoire, after their two third-round matches in Group E ended today in a goalless draw.

The Namibia national football team moved closer to securing its spot among the top 3 after Tunisia officially failed to qualify to the next round.

With these results, Mali sits at the top of Group E with 5 points, while South Africa edges Mali by goals difference to hold on to the runner-up spot after both national teams tallied 4 points. Tunisia valiantly tallied 2 points, but officially exited the African Cup of Nations from the third round.
