Typhoon Bebinca landed on Monday and hit the city of Shanghai, according to the Shanghai Central Meteorological Observatory. China's official Xinhua News Agency reported that the typhoon had swept through the Lin-gang Special Area of the Pudong district with maximum wind speeds near its center of 42 meters per second. Bebinca is believed to be the strongest typhoon to hit Shanghai in the past 75 years. The State Flood Control and Drought Relief Headquarters activated the Level IV emergency response for east China's Anhui Province and raised the response in Shanghai and Zhejiang to Level Source: Saudi Press Agency
