UAE Accountability Authority participates in 4th BRICS Supreme Audit Institutions meeting

ABU DHABI: A delegation from the UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA), led by its Chairman, Humaid Obaid Abushibs, participated in the 4th Meeting of the Heads of BRICS Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs) in Russia. The meeting was organised by the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation under the theme 'Sustainable Development Audit'. It discussed valuable insights on best auditing practices and the pivotal role of SAIs in promoting the sustainable development goals of BRICS member countries, in addition to the Work Plan of BRICS SAIs Cooperation for 2025-2026. On the sidelines of the event, the UAEAA delegation participated in the BRICS roundtable session entitled 'The Role of Supreme Audit Institutions in Developing an Environment of Integrity by Strengthening Anti-Corruption Measures', which focused on several critical areas such as the advanced mechanisms and tools in conducting audits and methodology for identifying corruption components. The UAEAA's participation in the event underscored its solid commitment to consolidating international cooperation in the audit field and its proactive role in promoting integrity on a global level.
