UAE Aid Agency Hosts AI Workshop to Enhance Humanitarian Efforts

Abu dhabi: The UAE Aid Agency organised a workshop focused on the role of artificial intelligence in humanitarian action, assembling 40 donor entities from various humanitarian organisations and charitable associations throughout the UAE. This initiative aimed to build capacity, develop skills, and harness the potential of AI tools to improve humanitarian, development, and charitable efforts.

According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, emphasized the importance of integrating artificial intelligence tools into humanitarian work. He highlighted how these tools could enhance the preparedness and efficiency of humanitarian organisations and donor entities in delivering emergency response and humanitarian assistance.

Dr. Al Ameri pointed out that the strategic use of intelligent algorithms could provide significant opportunities for humanitarian organisations, development institutions, and charitable associations. Such technologies would aid in planning annual programmes and implementing community projects in the world's most vulnerable regions, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The workshop addressed several themes aimed at strengthening national and institutional capacities in humanitarian action. It also focused on promoting a culture of innovation and the responsible use of modern technologies, reflecting the UAE's commitment to leveraging artificial intelligence to serve humanity and enhance the impact of humanitarian initiatives, development projects, and charitable programmes.
