UAE Air Defences Engage Multiple Ballistic Threats from Iran

Abu dhabi: The UAE air defence systems successfully engaged four ballistic missiles and 26 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launched from Iran on 20th March 2026. This latest incident adds to the ongoing series of hostilities faced by the UAE.

According to Emirates News Agency, since the beginning of this aggressive campaign by Iran, the UAE has intercepted a total of 338 ballistic missiles, 15 cruise missiles, and 1,740 UAVs. The persistent attacks have led to significant human losses, including the martyrdom of two members of the armed forces and the deaths of six civilians from Pakistani, Nepali, Bangladeshi, and Palestinian origins.

The assaults have also resulted in injuries to 158 individuals with varying degrees of severity. The injured hail from a diverse array of countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, and many others, highlighting the international impact of these hostilities.

The Ministry of Defence has reiterated its commitment to national security, asserting its readiness to counter any threats and protect the nation's sovereignty and interests. The Ministry emphasized that any attempts to destabilize the State will be met with decisive action.
