Buenos Aires:Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, the UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, held a series of important meetings in Argentina to discuss enhancing economic and tourism partnerships between the UAE and Argentina.
According to Emirates News Agency, Bin Touq met with Luis Caputo, Argentina's Minister of Economy; Daniel Scioli, Secretary of Tourism, Environment, and Sports; and Pablo Quirno Magrane, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship. The discussions, which took place during the International Tourism Fair (FIT 2026) in Buenos Aires, focused on shared interests and opportunities for strengthening cooperation in various sectors.
Bin Touq emphasized the growing relations between the UAE and Argentina, highlighting the shared vision and commitment to broadening partnerships, particularly in the economy and tourism. He noted the promising opportunities for more effective and sustainable collaborations in the future.
In talks with Caputo, Bin Touq explored enhancing economic cooperation, particularly in sectors such as the new economy, food and agriculture, renewable energy, technology, infrastructure, mining, and logistics. He also reviewed recent developments in the UAE's economic legislative framework, including significant reforms to enhance business flexibility and competitiveness.
During his meeting with Scioli, discussions revolved around developing cooperation in sports and cultural tourism and implementing initiatives to stimulate tourism flows. Bin Touq noted the significance of Abu Dhabi hosting the UN Tourism Executive Council session, which underscores the UAE's role in international tourism efforts.
Bin Touq also met with Quirno Magrane to discuss mechanisms for strengthening economic ties and facilitating market exchanges. They examined the strategic potential of both countries as regional and global market hubs.
During a roundtable with ministers, officials, and private-sector representatives, Bin Touq highlighted the economic opportunities in the UAE and the potential for Argentine companies to expand. The number of Argentine commercial companies in the UAE increased by 21.1 percent to nearly 750 by March 2026.
The meetings concluded with discussions on enhancing tourism sectors and leveraging expertise to strengthen ties between the UAE and Argentine tourism business communities.
