UAE and Azerbaijan Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations in support of shared development as part of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries. The meeting took place during President Aliyev's visit to the UAE, where he attended the opening of Games of the Future Abu Dhabi 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to broadening cooperation, particularly in development, the economy, investment, food security, renewable energy, sustainability, and other priority areas. They highlighted the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement signed in July 2025 as a significant advancement in their economic relations, expected to deliver substantial outcomes.

The discussions also included exchanges on regional and international issues of mutual interest. The UAE President hosted a luncheon in honor of President Aliyev, with the meeting attended by key figures such as His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, as well as Lieutenant General His Highness Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, alongside several Sheikhs and top officials.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Abu Dhabi, President Aliyev was received at the Presidential Flight by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. His Highness welcomed President Aliyev and emphasized the depth and continued development of relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan, underscoring the commitment of both countries' leaderships to further strengthen cooperation.
