Abu dhabi: Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Executive Affairs Authority, met with Kang Hoon-sik, Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea and Presidential Special Envoy to the UAE, in Abu Dhabi to review the progress of the 'Special Strategic Partnership' between the two nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, both leaders reiterated the importance of the partnership, highlighting their commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and exploring new avenues of cooperation. The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced technologies, peaceful nuclear energy, space, defence cooperation, and cultural exchange. These sectors reflect the broad scope of the bilateral relationship.
On the sidelines of the meeting, key agreements were signed to bolster cooperation. EDGE Group and the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) entered into two Memoranda of Understanding with the Republic of Korea's Defence Acquisition Programme Administration (DAPA). These agreements aim to enhance cooperation in defence industries and advanced technology research.
The meeting saw the participation of prominent figures, including Faisal Al Bannai, Adviser to the UAE President for Strategic Research and Advanced Technology Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EDGE, Abdulla Saif Al Nuaimi, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, alongside several senior UAE officials.
