Ashgabat: A high-level delegation from the United Arab Emirates visited Turkmenistan to discuss strengthening bilateral relations in key sectors. The delegation was led by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, along with Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Ahmed Al Sayegh, Minister of State. They were joined by representatives from the UAE government and private sector entities, including Dr. Mohammed Al Ariqi from the Presidential Court and Ahmed Alhay Alhameli, UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan.
According to Emirates News Agency, the UAE delegation met with several Turkmen leaders, including Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedow. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber conveyed greetings from UAE's leadership, including President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The Turkmen President reciprocated with his greetings and expressed a strong interest in enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in fields such as energy and infrastructure, alongside exploring opportunities for joint investments. The visit featured meetings with senior Turkmen officials, including the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of a new Production Sharing Contract between ADNOC's XRG, PETRONAS, and the Turkmenistan State Enterprise Hazarnebit with State Concern Turkmennebit for offshore 'Block I' gas and condensate fields. XRG and PETRONAS also signed a long-term Gas Sales Agreement with State Concern Turkmengas.
This visit underlines the commitment of both nations to advance cooperation across economic, investment, cultural, tourism, and social sectors, aiming at mutual benefits for their peoples.
