Abu dhabi: Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council (CSC), visited the headquarters of telecommunications provider du in Dubai Hills to discuss advancing cooperation in digital resilience and cybersecurity, as part of efforts to support the UAE's digital transformation and secure digital economy.
According to Emirates News Agency, during his visit, Al Kuwaiti met with Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, and other senior representatives. The discussions focused on emerging technologies, advanced infrastructure, and the crucial role of the private sector in advancing national digital priorities. Both parties emphasized the importance of cybersecurity in strengthening readiness against evolving threats.
Al Kuwaiti remarked, "Our visit to the du headquarters reflects the importance of bringing together national cybersecurity priorities and the capabilities of leading technology providers to strengthen the UAE's digital resilience." He expressed a keen interest in exploring opportunities for deeper cooperation in infrastructure, emerging technologies, and cybersecurity solutions to foster an innovative and globally competitive digital future.
Al Hassawi highlighted the need for aligning private sector capabilities with national priorities, ensuring that the infrastructure supporting the UAE's digital development remains secure and resilient. "It is our responsibility to contribute to this foundation through advanced infrastructure, secure digital solutions, and technologies that create confidence across the economy," he stated. He further added that du is eager to identify areas where its capabilities can support CSC priorities and the UAE's broader digital ambitions.
The delegation at the meeting received briefings on du's cybersecurity capabilities and measures to protect infrastructure serving businesses, institutions, and communities. The company also showcased its advanced infrastructure and digital solutions, underscoring its role beyond mere connectivity.
