UAE Emphasizes Peacekeeping Role at UN General Assembly

New York:United Nations The Strategic Police Advisory Group (SPAG), chaired by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), organized a side event during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly to showcase the UAE's contributions to peacekeeping and international security.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event focused on the 'United Nations Peacekeeping Chiefs Workshop (2026),' which was hosted by the UAE Ministry of Interior in Abu Dhabi from August 31 to September 4, 2026. This workshop was the first of its kind, bringing together leaders from police and military components of peacekeeping missions to enhance operational performance, readiness, and coordination.

The workshop received international acclaim for the UAE's high organizational standards and logistical support, which facilitated dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and expertise exchange. This broad participation underscored the international community's trust in the UAE as a dependable peacekeeping partner and highlighted Abu Dhabi as a secure and stable hub for international collaboration.

Through its leadership of the SPAG, the UAE reiterated its commitment to bolstering cooperation with the United Nations and its member states, while supporting initiatives to improve the effectiveness of peacekeeping missions.
