UAE Engages in Preparatory Talks at Second BRICS Sherpa Meeting

Rio de Janeiro: Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Trade Affairs and the UAE Sherpa to BRICS, led the UAE delegation at the second BRICS Sherpa meeting held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from April 23 to 26, 2025. The gathering aimed to prepare for the upcoming BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting slated for April 28-29, 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, the participants of the meeting focused on drafting the Foreign Ministers' Statement and explored strategic areas of cooperation among the BRICS nations. Al Hajeri underscored the significance of generating concrete economic results that would benefit the economies of BRICS countries. He lauded the collaborative efforts and dedication of the group members in enhancing economic partnerships.

Additionally, Al Hajeri engaged in multiple bilateral discussions with the Brazilian Sherpa, representing the host nation, and with Sherpas from various other countries. These meetings centered on exploring avenues to strengthen collaboration and bilateral relationships.
