UAE Launches World’s First Integrated Maritime Bundle to Transform Global Shipping

Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) has launched the Maritime Bundle, marking a groundbreaking initiative that unifies maritime transport services under a comprehensive digital platform. This pioneering model, the first of its kind globally, is available to both national and foreign vessels calling at UAE ports.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Maritime Bundle is an innovative step forward in the development of integrated government services, comprising 28 services in collaboration with 62 entities. This initiative annually serves over 38,000 beneficiaries and has achieved a customer satisfaction rate of 92%. The primary goal is to enhance the efficiency of the maritime sector, streamline procedures, and elevate global competitiveness through integration and smart governance.

Eng Mohammed Al Mansoori, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs at MoEI, stated that the Maritime Bundle embodies the UAE's vision of building future-ready ecosystems that facilitate global shipping and navigation. The transition from traditional services to an integrated digital platform is based on global standards, unifying maritime procedures and connecting international partners through innovation, artificial intelligence, and next-generation technologies.

The initiative strengthens the UAE's position as a pivotal hub in international maritime infrastructure development, fostering collaboration with over 62 local and global entities. The aim is to reshape maritime transport services, enhancing safety, efficiency, and sustainability in line with future needs.

Eng Sharif Al Olama, Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs at MoEI, noted that the initiative supports the Ministry's zero-bureaucracy approach by transforming services into a fully integrated digital journey. It aligns with the 'We the UAE 2031' vision, reinforcing the UAE's presence in the global maritime economy as a hub for smart and sustainable maritime transport.

The Maritime Bundle integrates with several international entities, including Lloyd's Register and the China and Indian Classification Societies, among others. It provides a digital infrastructure that significantly reduces procedural requirements, cutting down 365 procedures, 552 data fields, and 117 documents to a mere fraction, thus drastically decreasing service completion time.

The first phase of the Maritime Bundle targets UAE insurance companies, with plans for future expansion to international insurance firms. This move is set to enhance the UAE's role as a global platform in facilitating maritime transport operations and strengthening the reliability of shipping supply chains.
