DUBAI: The UAE National Paralympic Committee announced today that its Technical Consultant Tarek Al Souei has been elected as the Chair of the World Para Athletics' Sport Committee, while national team player Siham Al Rashidi secured a seat on the Athletes' Committee. This announcement followed elections that were held remotely in Germany under the supervision of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), with the results being declared after the votes were counted. Al Souei faced strong competition from nine other candidates worldwide, with over 160 countries participating in the voting process for this position.
