Kuwait City: Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Secretary-General of the UAE Media Council, led the UAE delegation at the meetings of the Under-Secretaries of Ministries of Media of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held today in Kuwait. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Ali Mohammed Aldhuhoori, Executive Director of the Media Operations Sector at the National Media Office, and Maitha Al Suwaidi, CEO of the Media Strategy and Policy Sector at the UAE Media Council.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Shehhi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the State of Kuwait for its warm welcome and excellent organisation, as well as to the GCC General Secretariat for its continuous follow-up on the work of the media committees. He highlighted the evolution of Gulf media from a traditional medium to a significant force in shaping awareness and preserving identity. This transformation, he noted, places an added responsibility on the region to establish integrated Gulf media policies, enhance content quality, and secure the digital space to protect the core values and interests of GCC societies.
The meeting addressed several priority topics for joint media action. These included age classification for electronic games, guidelines and regulations for producing Gulf media content, activation of media partnerships with regional and international organisations, initiatives for integrating artificial intelligence in media production, and leadership training programmes for Gulf media professionals.
This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to develop the joint Gulf media framework and unify visions for building responsible media that keeps pace with global changes while safeguarding the core values and interests of GCC societies.
