DUBAI: A number of police officers who graduated from the first batch of the professional diploma of Policing Innovation and Leadership (PIL) stressed that the diploma reflects the UAE’s keenness in general and Dubai in particular to adopt scientific programmes.
The diploma was organised by the General Department of Training in cooperation with Rochester Institute of Technology. These programmes aim to enhance professional policing practices, orient towards the future, and improve overall quality of life.
The officers, who were among 45 officers from various police agencies from 30 countries, praised the high level of the diploma, which enhanced the exchange of knowledge and experiences through the valuable information provided by 30 experts from various international bodies over the four months.
Major Ahmad Al Rawashdeh from Jordan confirmed that the PIL programme has strengthened the expertise exchanged between all officers and included diverse topics related to the core of police security work and the i
mportance of applying creativity to anticipate the future of police work and promote quality of life for communities.
Officer Tediz Mubita from Zambia said that the diploma is an essential scientific programme that emphasises the need to strengthen innovation in police work and keep pace with modern police techniques worldwide to promote security and safety.
Major Ahmad Shahab from Bahrain said, “The diploma programme contained valuable information and brought together officers from 30 countries, which contributed to them sharing their diverse experiences and opened doors to the future for them to learn about the most critical developments in the field of smart cities, and enhanced awareness of the importance of innovation in police work to keep pace with all developments and challenges.”
First Lieutenant Bashar Joman from Syria pointed out that the PIL provided an ideal environment that helped officers from different countries develop themselves on a personal, professional and academic level, praising the
scientific material that enriched the officers’ knowledge over four months.
Officer Ricardo, a fingerprint expert from Brazil, said that the PIL diploma was an excellent opportunity for officers to benefit from valuable information that enhances police work. He added, “This programme will surely bring about societal changes in the future.”
Ricardo thanked Dubai Police for this unique programme and expressed his admiration for the force for “doing a great job in technology, investing in innovation, and enhancing security and safety.”
Officer Brecia Hurdwar from Mauritius Police said, “Dubai Police designed the programme correctly and comprehensively, and I gained much experience with officers from different countries that I will personally share with my colleagues at work.”
