Abu Dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Albanian Prime Minister His Excellency Edi Rama engaged in discussions to explore and enhance the bilateral cooperation between their nations. The discussions aimed at reinforcing ties, particularly in areas that contribute to the development of both countries, and covered various regional and international issues of mutual interest.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting took place at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where His Highness welcomed Prime Minister Rama, who was attending Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. Both leaders focused on expanding shared interests and seizing opportunities to deepen cooperation across sectors that would yield practical benefits for their citizens. Key areas of focus included strengthening economic, investment, and development collaborations.
The leaders also addressed the agenda of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, emphasizing its significance in raising global awareness on sustainability and serving as an international platform for exchanging insights and expertise. They highlighted its role in fostering global cooperation to tackle common challenges, especially those related to climate change.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Prime Minister Edi Rama witnessed the signing of an agreement to establish ALBtrace, a joint venture company. This company will provide financial solutions that enable the Albanian government to monitor taxable products and ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
The agreement was signed by Khaled Mohammed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE), and Delina Ibrahimaj, Albanian Minister of Finance. The meeting was attended by several notable figures, including members of the UAE's leadership and senior officials, who were part of the discussions to further enhance the UAE-Albania relations.
