Doha: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar, in Doha to discuss the relations between the two countries and explore ways to strengthen them for the benefit of both nations and their peoples. The leaders also reviewed developments in the Middle East and efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, aiming to advance prosperity and progress.
According to Emirates News Agency, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani welcomed the UAE President, who is visiting Qatar to reinforce ties between the two countries. This visit aligns with their shared commitment to supporting joint Gulf cooperation.
The leaders exchanged views on regional and international developments, focusing on the situation in the Middle East following a ceasefire announcement between Iran and Israel. His Highness the UAE President praised the efforts of Sheikh Tamim in facilitating the ceasefire agreement. He emphasized the importance of coordinated international efforts to ensure regional security and stability.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed reaffirmed the UAE’s solidarity with Qatar after a recent attack on its territory. He expressed support for Qatar’s measures to safeguard security and protect its citizens. Sheikh Tamim thanked the UAE President for his sentiments and praised the UAE’s supportive stance during recent events.
Both leaders emphasized advancing dialogue and diplomatic solutions as the preferred path to overcoming crises and preserving regional and global security. The meeting included members of the UAE President’s delegation, such as H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and other senior officials.
The Qatari delegation included His Highness Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, Personal Representative of the Amir of Qatar, and Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, among others. Following the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed departed Qatar, with a farewell from Sheikh Tamim and other officials.
