UAE President Leads Eid Al-Fitr Prayers at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan performed Eid Al-Fitr prayer at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi. His Highness was joined by several dignitaries, including His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and other prominent members of the ruling family and government officials, as well as numerous worshippers.

According to Emirates News Agency, the Eid Al-Fitr sermon focused on the importance of righteousness in faith and worship. Delivered by His Excellency Dr. Omar Habtoor Al Darei, the sermon highlighted the concept of 'Birr,' which signifies universality and extensiveness, emphasizing the significance of good deeds and benevolence. He noted that the Holy Quran mentions righteousness over 30 times, underscoring its importance in society.

His Excellency Al Darei elaborated on how an ideal society is founded on righteousness, urging believers to treat all community members with the utmost righteousness. He encouraged worshippers to use Eid as an opportunity for piety and loyalty, upholding the values of their ancestors. These values, he noted, have contributed to the UAE's security, safety, stability, and prosperity.

After the prayer, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan exchanged greetings with worshippers. He and the Sheikhs also recited Al-Fatiha for the soul of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, praying for his eternal peace in Paradise.
