The visit of His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait, to the UAE last March further highlighted the strength of these relations.
The UAE-Kuwait Joint Higher Committee exemplifies their commitment to bolstering bilateral relations, with the recent session resulting in the signing of eight memoranda of understanding in infrastructure, technology, educa
tion, and other sectors. This cooperation reflects the rich history of fraternal and economic ties that have developed since Kuwait was among the first to establish diplomatic relations with the UAE in 1971.
Both nations share a vision for regional peace and stability, advocating for diplomatic solutions to conflicts. They are also expanding economic cooperation, with non-oil trade between them reaching $12.198 billion in 2023. The UAE is a major destination for Kuwait’s non-oil exports, while significant investments flow between the two countries.
Tourism and cultural exchanges are also flourishing, with a significant number of tourists and students enhancing the ties between their peoples. Kuwait’s participation in COP28, held in Dubai, further underscores their collaboration in global environmental initiatives, highlighting shared commitments to sustainable development goals.
