UAE Secures Hosting Rights for 46th World Congress of Military Medicine 2026


Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with ADNEC Group, has announced that the UAE will host the 46th World Congress of Military Medicine in 2026. Scheduled to take place from November 9th to 13th in Abu Dhabi, the event is a significant achievement for the nation, reinforcing its position as a global hub for military and civilian medical knowledge and international cooperation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the World Congress of Military Medicine is a biennial international scientific platform that has been held since 1921 under the supervision of the International Committee of Military Medicine. The congress assembles senior medical and military leaders, experts, researchers, and practitioners from over 120 countries. The event is designed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, sharing of best practices, and review of scientific advancements, while also strengthening international cooperation in military and civilian medicine.

The congress will take place at the ADNEC Centre in Abu D
habi, marking a milestone that demonstrates international trust in the UAE’s advanced infrastructure, skilled national talent, and exceptional organisational capabilities. The announcement was made during a press conference at Erth Abu Dhabi, attended by several high-ranking officials, including Major General Staff Ishaq Saleh Mohammed Al Baloushi and Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri.

Major General Staff Ishaq Saleh Mohammed Al Baloushi emphasized that hosting the congress reflects the international confidence in the UAE’s capabilities and infrastructure. He noted that the Ministry of Defence sees this as an opportunity to strengthen the UAE’s role in advancing military medicine systems, with a renewed focus on civilian medicine for this edition.

Humaid Matar Al Dhaheri, Managing Director and Group CEO of ADNEC Group, stated that this partnership underscores ADNEC Group’s strategy to attract and host major international events, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s status as a regional leader in specialised e

Major General Staff Ayesha Sultan Al Dhaheri highlighted the congress as a global platform that will bring together leaders and experts to discuss scientific developments and innovations. She affirmed the Ministry of Defence’s commitment to delivering the congress to the highest standards, in line with the UAE’s global standing.

The congress will include scientific sessions, workshops, and exhibitions, fostering an integrated environment for dialogue and collaboration. It aligns with the UAE’s leadership directives to advance healthcare systems and reinforce the country’s role in global health security.

The Tawazun Council is the Headline Sponsor of the event. Saif Ali Al Marzooqi, Senior Advisor of Strategy and Executive Affairs at Tawazun, expressed their commitment to international cooperation in advancing military healthcare and strengthening national capabilities.
