UAE Sends 25 Ambulances, Equipment, Medical Supplies to Angola

Abu Dhabi: The UAE has dispatched 25 ambulances, advanced equipment, and medical supplies to Angola as part of ongoing efforts to enhance healthcare capacities in developing countries. This initiative follows the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

According to Emirates News Agency, this aid is part of the UAE's $220 million global initiative to support Africa's health sector. This initiative was previously announced by His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State and Chairman of the Health Advisory Committee for International Development, during the COP28 conference in Dubai.

His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan emphasized the strengthening bilateral relations between the UAE and Angola, particularly in the health sector. He highlighted the major challenges faced by Africa's health sector, which require international cooperation due to weak infrastructure and facilities.

His Excellency also noted that improving healthcare standards is a significant priority within the UAE's foreign aid programs. His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, highlighted the UAE's commitment to supporting less developed nations, especially in Africa, in light of challenges like climate change and economic deprivation that demand strong international cooperation.
