Geneva: Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior, and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), emphasized the necessity of promoting international peace and security as fundamental elements for achieving stability among nations and fostering sustainable development, in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, Dr. Al Nuaimi’s remarks were made during his participation, along with a delegation from the UAE Parliamentary Division, in a high-level meeting focused on upholding the UN Charter and international law to safeguard peace and security. This event was organized by the General Secretariat of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) on the sidelines of the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, held in Geneva, Switzerland, from July 29 to 31, 2025.
The meeting aimed to reaffirm the role of multilateral institutions and diplomatic efforts in peacefully resolving conflicts. It also highlighted the contribution of parliaments in maintaining the core principles of the UN Charter in ensuring global peace and stability.
