TOKYO: Japan imported 31.75 million barrels of oil from the UAE in August 2024, accounting for 45.3 percent of its total imports for the month, according to data from the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy under Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The data shows that Japan's total oil imports in August reached approximately 70 million barrels, of which 94.8 percent, or around 66.4 million barrels, came from five Arab countries, including the UAE.
