UAE Welcomes Removal from EU List of High-Risk Third Countries for AML/CFT

Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed approval following the European Parliament’s endorsement of an updated list by the European Commission that excludes the UAE from high-risk third countries for money laundering and terrorist financing.

According to Emirates News Agency, Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, stated that this decision reflects the UAE’s commitment to international standards in combating financial crime. The UAE is dedicated to maintaining robust anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing (AML/CFT) systems that can address emerging global threats.

The UAE continues to be a strategic partner to the European Union, recognized as a global financial hub. The nation aims to further its partnership with the EU, seeking to enhance cooperation, prosperity, and security between the regions.
